(Clermont Ferrand, France) – The Michelin tire company has announced today that they are selling a full line of tires in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness initiative. All tires in the SGK line will bear the now-familiar pink color that has been made famous world-wide, and is associated exclusively with the Barbie line of toys, grapefruit, roses, panthers, elephants, flamingos, strawberry ice cream, and breast cancer awareness.
Susan G. Komen spokeswoman, Susan J. Kierkegaard was at the Michelin factory in Flint Michigan today for the grand unveiling of the new product line. She gave a short speech urging all of those present to seek greater awareness, and revealed that she was aware that there were many cancer-causing solvents, chemicals, and minerals at the plant. She then said that in the spirit of celebrating awareness, she was going to immedately leave the plant and take a shower.
The Michelan line will include pink versions of the Defender, Latitude Tour, Energy Saver A/S, LTX A/T2, Primacy MXM4, as well as a full line of tires for Hot Wheels automobiles.
These tires are not merely colored pink, but are made with rubber that is specially formulated to hold the appropriate shade of pink. There are two formulations, one for Pantone 232 (Light Pink), and the other for Pantone 227 (Dark Pink).
The color is guaranteed to remain within 5% of the Pantone colors for up to three years after purchase of the tires, even with heavy wear. These tires can be matched to Michelin brand hubcaps, with either Pantone 232, 227 or Pantone Cool Gray 3. There are no other colors that are approved by the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Customers who purchase tires from the SGK line during the month of March will receive their choice of two of the following Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness products:
- Pepper spray
- Leisure suit
- American flag
- Cat
- ‘Please Don’t Tickle Me’ Elmo
