Book Review: The Racoons of Eden, by Richard Naybrey

Review of The Racoons of Eden, by Richard Naybery (ISBN: 978-0997869195)

SYNOPSIS

Life in Eden, TX is in jeopardy, as creatures that are seldom seen in the light begin to raid trash cans and grocery carts across the city each day. It begins at one 7-11 store, and spreads eventually to the fine dining district, affecting even the Fudruckers, Olive Garden and Chipotle restaurants. Residents are in hysterics as they try to find a solution to this infestation. But then, a visitor comes on the scene, and changes everyone’s perspective. The city is never the same.

REVIEW

This book is full of fun, love, guts and gore; all shown from the perspective of the protagonist, a fluffy racoon named Ronald. Racoons will eat just about anything, as evidenced by the feeding frenzy described in the first four chapters of the book. I’d recommend that you don’t start the book over a meal, but wait a few hours for your food to first digest.

The horrible way that the raccoons are treated by the monsters in Eden, TX, belies the name of the town, and made me, as a reader, feel ashamed to be human. From putting locks on previously claimed food supply containers, to even placing poison in the food, the humans in this book are shown to be terrible in their wrath towards the creatures that are the primary inhabitants of this city of paradise.

Until the end, we are left in suspense as to what will happen to the racoon population, and whether the humans will repent. The ending is so twisted and surprising, that I won’t relate it here. You’ll just have to read the book for yourself.

CONCLUSIONS

I needed a large supply of Tums and Prilosec to make it through this book. However, the ending is so life changing that it was worth every pill. Make no mistake about it: this book will change your life!

I am giving The Racoons of Eden 5 out of 5 stars. It is an instant classic of spiritual significance.

Until next time,
