Life is hard enough without having to face troubles with other people, and when you face them in a state of euphoria, it can be especially wearing on your body. I spent many years thinking that I was the only one who felt delectation at the sight of a kitten, or at the thought of a favorite dessert. I now know that I am not alone. There is a name for my condition: anti-depression.
YOU, also are not alone! You can rest assured that others feel the same way as you. There is no shortage of people who experience felicity and empyrean sensitivity when faced with convivial, jocund phenomena.
The following test will help you to identify whether you are experiencing anti-depression. If you have any doubts about your current state, please complete this test. If test indicates that you are experiencing anti-depression, then please use the resources given at the end of this article to seek help.
TEST FOR ANTI-DEPRESSION
1. How often do you smile?
- A. Never
- B. Sometimes
- C. Often
2. How often do you laugh?
- A. Never
- B. Sometimes
- C. Often
3. Do you enjoy life?
- A. Never
- B. Sometimes
- C. Often
4. Would you describe yourself as happy?
- A. Never
- B. Sometimes
- C. Often
5. Do you like enjoyable things?
- A. Never
- B. Sometimes
- C. Often
SCORING
If you answered, “Never” to one or more of the questions, then you are in no danger of being anti-depressed.
If you answered “Sometimes” to more than two questions, and did not answer “Never” to more than one question, then you are in no danger of being anti-depressed.
If you answered “Often” to at least four of the questions, and did not answer “Never” to any, then you are definitely anti-depressed.
NEXT STEPS
If the test indicated that you are anti-depressed, please seek help immediately. Find a trustworthy friend with whom you can share this, and find ways to support each other in the blitheness of your life.
Most important, be sure to tell your doctor that you are in a state of anti-depression. They will need this information in order to properly recommend tests and treatments.
